‘The Trees Are Watching’ by Lauren Baker for Inside Out Festival

Christchurch Gardens, which recently won a London in Bloom award host a tree installation by Lauren Baker, untitled ‘The Trees Are Watching’ made of neon – with the artist asking: “I wonder, would we be this irresponsible with the planet if we thought the trees were watching us?”. This subtle illumination will encourage visitors to wander and (re)discover Victoria. This work has been brought to you by MTArt Agency and Westminster City’s Council.

Lauren Baker uses mesmeric, glowing shapes which draw on ancient symbolism and spiritual beliefs and employs neon words, using light to evoke positive thoughts to seep into your subconscious and start a thread of high-frequency consciousness.

The Inside Out festival continues this October with a series of outdoor art, sculpture and illuminated installations to surprise and delight visitors on the streets of Westminster this autumn. Launching on the 14th of October, the art series features pop up outdoor exhibitions, late-night gallery openings, immersive floorscapes, fun sculptures and stunning illuminated installations – all free for visitors to enjoy.
