Art and finance in the service of sustainability.
“To help develop and preserve the cultural legacy to be bequeathed to future generations, Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has always supported new talent in the fields of education, research and the arts. As a family-owned private bank, we put sustainability at the heart of our business model, and it is our conviction that the financial sector has an essential role to play in tackling the world’s great social and environmental challenges. As a result, this first exhibition held to mark the opening of UBP’s new offices in Monaco is particularly symbolic for us.
Through our close collaboration with MTArt, a certified B Corp® and award-winning artists’ agency, we have been able to bring together the works of artists who, through their philosophy or the materials they use, make sustainability a central part of their work and aesthetic quest. The sensibilities of artists such as Claire Luxton, David Aiu Servan-Schreiber and Lauren Baker echo our own commitments, evidenced recently by UBP Monaco’s signing of the Principality’s National Energy Transition Pact.
This Pact, members of which commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, is fully in line with our determination to manage our environmental footprint, and more generally, ensure a sustainable future. We are therefore delighted to share with you the works of these artists, for whom the preservation of our planet is a core value.”
