Description

Unravel explores both the struggles and strengths of being a woman. The work examines the deep scrutiny we face, but also the pressure we place upon ourselves. The colour white often evokes ideas of purity, simplicity, and cleanliness, those ideals are often placed upon women and to be beautiful, youthful and virginal. Juxtaposed with the simple sharp point of the needle and the spines of the hedgehog the work calls forth an exploration of our societal expectations the patriarchy and the classic female tropes.
