Claire Luxton, Eden, 2020, Westfield, Forum des Halles, Paris, France.
We are very proud to have launched the public art project “Eden” – one of the first living and evolving artworks dealing with nature by artist Claire Luxton next to the Centre Pompidou. Phase one, revealed today, is the beginning of the work. This beginning will be small by design, as in nature nothing blooms overnight.
Phase two is an evolution of the existing work that completes what has already been done. The idea is not only to represent nature but also to imitate it and respect its rhythm. Like a luxuriant flora and a botanical lagoon that takes shape, this work takes time and under the summer sun, under the Canopée des Halles, this work will grow.
In this phase, we recover the beginning which starts under the staircase by joining the first part of the work, the empty spaces completed and the work is displayed on the walls on each side like a luxuriance, a fauna and a flora slowly taking over the Canopée.
