Saype x ECT in Annet-sur-Marne
Our artist Saype has unveiled ‘Un jeu d’enfant?’, a giant eco-friendly land mural!
Using biodegradable pigments from charcoal, chalk, water and milk proteins, the painting was created in Annet-sur-Marne, near Paris, on a former wasteland. The site was rehabilitated by ECT, using soil excavated from nearby construction sites, for the benefit of the community and local residents, making it part of a circular economy approach useful to all.
The theme of this 3,500 square meter artwork echoes the history of the site: Saype wished to interpret its rehabilitation, representing a child playing with a bulldozer. The dimensions of the piece of art give the illusion that the machine is the child’s toy.
After Switzerland, South Africa, Colombia and Burkina-Faso, this is the next piece of Saype’s ‘Human Story’ series. This emotionally-charged manifesto comes to life in imposing frescoes, featuring men, women or children, coiled in grandiose landscapes to deliver a universal message.
