Alexandria Coe
Drawings and textiles
Alexandria Coe is an artist living and working in London. She is specialised in simplified figure drawing and has skills in drawing, painting and textiles. She also taught a regular life drawing class for the past four years. According to her, drawing can be a silent act, and the forms I draw ignite a conversation. The shapes aren’t loud or aggressive, rather vulnerable, quiet and strong. Playing with the ideas of womanhood and finding that element of play within the stereotype is critical. An unclothed body is a body without social norms and boundaries. When we strip it all bare, and all our walls are exposed – what is left, what lingers – I draw that.
Alexandria’s clients include Liberty of London, twin magazine, Elixir ltd, Braun, Jo Malone, Whistles, Liberty of London, The Hoxton hotel, the Stratford, Alighieri, Miller Harris, Jigsaw, Teen Vogue, Topshop, InStyle (USA), AnOther, Vogue,, Elle decoration, AnOther, FT weekend, Elle.
