David Popa, Ephemeral, 2020, Helsinki, Finland.

Popa’s first major Earth Mural Project on an islet is located close to the shores of Helsinki, Finland. The piece features a somber portrait of the artist’s wife painted with bone black pigment and titanium dioxide from the mineral Rutile. The shape of the islet complements the natural contour of the portrait, giving an impression of a quarter moon.
