Hoxton Billboards, 2017

Robert Montgomery started doing billboard poems around the streets of his studio Shoreditch in 2004. Initially, these works were done in a guerilla way and would appear overnight. He called the series “Words in the City at Night”. In 2017 he was invited back to the neighbourhood by Jack Arts to create a series of billboard works across Hoxton and East London. He conceives these works as Concrete Poetry on a dramatic scale.
