2020

Textile and wool carpet

200 x 200 cm

Inspired by the many ways of reproducing fortune, good health and wealth in Chinese culture, the illustration represents a collection of symbols that impersonate an abundant, ideal life.

Elements like the peach (symbol of the for good life and immortality), the dragon (standing for wealth and power), the Chrysanthemum flower (of joy and happiness), the carp fish (the symbol of good business), tea cups (as a representation of family and joining together) are found in various forms as decoration of the traditional Chinese objects. They are widely recognised in the Asian culture and their shape remember everybody what a contemporary reinterpretation of those elements are floating on a Christmas red background composing the perfect good life wishes pack that one could receive and offer to a dearest one, especially after a challenging year.
